Apple Watch calories burned too high for workout

Every time I do a "traditional strength training" workout on my apple watch it marks that I burn about 100 calories every 10 minutes. This makes it so that every workout I'm burning 600+ calories for only about 60 minutes of weight training. I do workout at a high intensity with multiple super-sets, but I feel like the calories are being overestimated. I had a friend (who is in about the same shape as me) workout with me and he burned about 200 calories less than I did by the end of the same workout. My HR zones are pretty evenly distributed throughout the workout as well so I feel like the number shouldn't be this high. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you fix it? It could be that apple watch is correct and I am burning more than I think but I feel like its too much. My health info seems to be all up to date and I have tried to re-calibrate on the phone app.
