How to fix Artwork sync issues between iPhone and Mac in Apple Music
This issue was brought up in this community in Aug '22, but has still not been fixed by Apple and replies have been blocked.
The problem is that not all artwork shown in Songs view in the Music app on the iPhone syncs with the artwork shown in Songs view in the Music app on the Mac. I think this happens when Music can't automatically find the artwork and/or a user adds artwork in Music on the Mac.
If there is a mismatch and/or the music note appears, meaning no artwork associated with the song, one has to delete the song on the iPhone and then re-sync the iPhone with the Music app on the Mac in order to get the iPhone to download and display the correct artwork.
~250 people indicated they had the same problem in the previous post. I had to do this for over hundred songs on my iPhone this week. It is an UNPLEASANT user experience, to say the least.
I think the proper sync'ing procedure Apple should use is for the iPhone to check if the iPhone Artwork file matches the Mac. If not, during the sync process, ask the user which devices', i.e., Mac or iPhone, artwork to use. This is the way most databases engage users to resolve conflicts.
