Deleted Personal Contact Card

I recently updated IOS to 17.3.1. Today I tried to get some data off my own contact card, but it wasn’t there. I turned the phone off and back on and it’s still MIA. Upon calling Apple Support, I was told that sometimes that happens and it’s also no longer in the cloud. Any ideas, other than creating a new card? (That doesn’t help me retrieve the other info stored in Notes.)

So the card is gone or notes in the card are gone?

If you are syncing it with something other than icloud, it’s very probable that the email service you’re syncing the contact with doesn’t support the field or fields that are now missing.

The solution going forward is to sync your contacts with icloud or don’t use the extra fields that are not supported by the service you’re syncing with.

Thanks, Tim. The entire card was missing. I was able to sync it with Gmail to retrieve the card. The sync function was turned off during the update. Unfortunately, the first 2 Apple representatives did not provide that information and both said it had to be recreated. It’s frustrating that it took 3 separate calls to receive the correct guidance.
