Is it okay to delete a Duplicate Microsoft Word Application on MacBook Air?

I was searching for an auto-recovery file and in the process I ended up with a duplicate MS word application. So now I have one called Microsoft Word and one called Microsoft Word (original) -- which is ironic because it is the most recently created one. They seem to have the same amount of data, the same documents and the same dates of save (as far as I can tell.) Am I OK to just delete one of these MS Word applications, and if so does it matter which?

Word is a Microsoft product best to ask them or look at their support site.
