Boss FS-5U as patch change footswitch in Mainstage with M-Audio Keystation

I have an M-Audio Keystation that I am using as a midi controller with Mainstage. I have a Boss FS-5U that I would like to use as a footswitch to switch patches. The Keystation only has two pedal inputs so I have the FS-5U plugged into the "expression" pedal input. Whenever I try to use the footswitch, it inputs 0-127 into Mainstage so I end up skipping two or three patches every time. Mainstage reads it as a volume pedal with absolute input. Switching the input type has not fixed this.

What am I missing here?
