What do I do if Face ID stops working?
Face ID on my phone stopped working or decided not to recognize my face. Because the security measures are enabled, I can’t reset Face ID in order to utilize apps, etc which are unlocked with Face ID.

Make arrangements to have Apple evaluate your phone:

Meanwhile, use your passcodes. I have yet to see an app that uses FaceID exclusively. My banking apps allow me to use FaceID but, should that not be available, I can still log in using the username and passcode for that account.
I have the same issue same timeline - no case no hairline crack still an issue - I’ve reset everything no dice.
I contact Apple support and it got escalated and the call back never happened
Issue completely went away - for about 10 minutes and returned and then went away again 3 hrs later for about a half hour second time - but it has returned again and Face ID is been completely inoperable for the past 5 hrs
This has to be a software update issue with 17.3.1 is my thought - as it’s been a bit clunky since I updated 4-5 days ago
PS turn off ‘stolen device protection’ because that only makes it more of a nightmare
Any others have issue or report to Apple ?
