2019 MacBook Air fan randomly started running constantly.

My MacBook Air is about 4 years old, and until about 2 weeks ago I had no issues with the fan running unnecessarily. Suddenly, it started overheating frequently and the fans were running very loudly. Now after about 2 weeks of this issue, it has only gotten worse, and the fans run constantly even with very minimal use. It has even started running the battery down while lid is shut and computer is sleeping, which means the computer dies even if it was initially charged when I closed it. I have tried resetting the SMC which hasn't really helped. I updated to the latest MacOS, and checked for viruses (there doesn't seem to be any). The activity monitor is showing normal levels of CPU for everything, and I'm really not sure what else there is to do. Any suggestions?

Thanks Ruskes. I tried it but I get the error message, "unable to get smc values." Do you have any other suggestions? (Besides the genius bar, of course.)
