Padlock icon upper right screen on Apple TV

I can’t use my iPhone remote in my Apple TV sometimes. I notice a padlock icon on the upper right side. How do I “unlock” it?

Apple TV icon is locked. The remote will to engage to unlock. It will not activate any icons

Apple TV remote on lock screen iOS18 Since iOS 18, sometimes if I use my iPhone to control our AppleTV, the remote will stay on my Lock Screen indefinitely. It’s frustrating because my phone unlocks slower with the remote up. It doesn’t scan faceID right away to unlock my phone but waits for me to try to interact with the remote, which I don’t need indefinitely, then unlocks, then I can swipe away from the remote. it appears like this in the attached photo. Quitting the TV remote app doesn’t fix it. I’ve tried toggling off live updates and notifications in Settings. the only solution I have found is restarting the phone.

Since IOS 18 on iPhone, Apple TV remote constantly open on my Home Screen I did the software update and since then my iphone Home Screen won’t show the photo chosen or my data but the Apple TV remote largely open even when I’m not home or not connected to WiFi. I can’t get rid of it. The remote itself doesn’t connect to my TV even if I’m near the tv and trying to connect. I Tried to change the remote setting, deleted the remote widget, checked accessibility. Can’t get rid of it. Any suggestions?

The lock icon often symbolizes the requirement for a password. Could that be it?

See the AirPlay settings on the receiving device, whether a password is set there. You may disable that requirement, or change the password to something else.
