CarPlay Maps doesn't work with contacts

When using CarPlay Apple Maps does not work to set a destination that is from my contacts. I can dial a contact, I can message a contact, but I cannot get directions to a contact's address. This functionality works fine when not using CarPlay. It is broken when using CarPlay.

Carplay Maps no longer has my contacts Up until the recent update, I was able to use carplay to get directions to people in my contact. Either by typing it in the search or asking siri. For example, I’d ask “Hey Siri, take me to Nay’s house.” Voila! it would get me directions. But now it won’t show anyone in my contacts. Only yelp results. And when I ask Siri, it says she can’t give me that information while I’m driving. Even when I am parked. WTF? How do I set it up so that Apple Maps on CARPLAY can start using my contacts again. Everything works phone on the phone itself.

Maps option to Create New Contact and Add to Existing Contact missing with new iSO 16.1.1 update Anyone else not able to quickly "Create New Contact" when in apple maps by tapping on the "more" tab with the three little dots? i use this feature multiple times a day and with the new iSO 16.1.1 update it seems to no longer be available.

Adding a new Contact from Apple Maps has changed Apple Maps on the iPhone has recently changed the way in which you create a Contact. You used to tap the Ellipsis button and add or update a Contact that way. Now you have to hit the Share button and you’ll find the Add or Update Contact option there.
