Workout Apple Watch Siri not working with airPods

This is a follow-up to earlier threads. When Airpods are in if I ask Siri to start a workout it tries to do it on the phone, not the watch. This is apparently an ongoing problem and some people have created shortcuts. II found that if you turn off the Siri listening feature on the iPhone it works fine, but you lose some other functionality.

HomePod 2 Siri Issues Good Evening everyone. having a bit of trouble with my HomePod 2. In my room I have a MacBook, watch, iPhone and the HomePod. Whenever I said hey siri, they would all pick up but then immediately cancel out as the HomePod was activated waiting for me to ask it to play music or ask a question. Recently when I have said hey siri, my phone picks up but then cancels straight away, at the same time the HomePod starts listening and then aswell cancels meaning it doesn’t wait for me to say anything, this is the same for my phone. Am I doing something wrong? My MacBook has been turned off so this wouldn’t pick up, and my watch has been fine too. The only times it works is if I’m on call on my iPhone, if I’m on my iPhone. When it’s placed in the same room it starts to play up. Any help or advice would be appreciated, Thanks

Not working - “Hey Siri, start an Outdoor walking/running/cycling workout” Hello everyone, i used to raise my wrist to ask Siri to start workouts for me on my Apple Watch 7 since watchOS 9 or 9.1 (can’t remember exactly) this is no longer possible as Siri reports a problem. (Feedback example: “Sorry, I am having trouble right now, try again later”) exception: when having AirPods in ears and connected to Bluetooth to the watch and NOT to the iPhone (watch > settings.app > Bluetooth > tap AirPods to make sure they’re connected to the watch) that way I can raise my wrist and ask Siri to start a workout and she will do it. does someone have a solution please? my devices Watch 7 Nike with watchOS 9.3.1 iphone 12 with iOS 16.3.1 thanks in advance!

AirPods don’t work with Apple Watch I have a cellular plan with my Apple Watch. When I go out without my iPhone and try to stream or listen to music on my 2nd Gen AirPods Pro I (think I) have downloaded I get a few seconds of clarity then the sound breaks up and is unintelligible. There is no issue with my AirPods when connected to my phone. Or when controlling the sound through my Apple Watch when my iPhone is with the watch. I have reset the AirPods.

I am having the same issue for a few months. No update has fixed it for me. Driving me insane. Did you find a solution?
