Missing NFC in iPhone

i can't seem to use NFC to scan my NFC Tag (TnG Enhanced Card) on my iPhone 13.

It is currently running on IOS Version 16.6.1.

Cannot find NFC app under SETTINGS.
Attempts at "scanning" NFC Tag through SHORTCUTS>AUTOMATION>Create Personal Automation>NFC also failed.

Any suggestions on how to activate the NFC would be much appreciated.

NFC Tags for I phone 12 pro max not working. I have an iphone 12 pro max. While I know that it has NFC capabilities, I can only access the capabilities through a 3rd party app. I used to have an android and could make and use tags that I use to automate my home with just a tap. And even the NFC tags that I have created with the 3rd party app on my iphone are not readable except through the 3rd party app. I am not talking about apple pay, or tap to pay. I have looked up how to activate it online and it shows the steps of Settings > Control Center > NFC Tag Reader ........ But my iphone 12 pro max does not have the setting for NFC Tag Reader. It is literally not there. Even searching from the settings screen does not show anything for NFC. Any advice?

Why is NFC not working on ios 18 I’ve been trying my NFC tags on all iPhone updated to iOS 18 and it’s not been working, I tried with an IPhone XR running on iOS 16 and it worked.. Is there a way to fix NFC issues on the IOS18?

There is no "NFC App". The capability is 'always on'. App developers can code that functionality into their apps.

You can set up an automation for when you scan an NFC tag. If it's not working, the signal from the NFC tag may not be strong enough.
