Brother P-Touch PT-P700 Label Printer not connecting to your Mac? Here's how to fix it!!

Problem: PT-P700 Label Printer shows up as an external drive, not a printer. There's no way to print to it.

Solution: Press and hold the "PLite" button on top of the printer until the green light turns off.

You will now be able to select it as a printer from the P-Touch Editor app.

Apparently, it was originally designed to work without installing software, by simply pressing the p-lite button. That function died with OS updates. Turning off that function allows the printer to work again with the installed P-touch Editor app available as a free download from the Apple App Store.
