Accessing Recently Deleted Messages app crash

This is not a question, more of a solution, since no one was able to figure this one out. When accessing Recently Deleted in iMessage the app completely crashes and will not allow access. Tapping on the Menu icon to open the sidebar, then tapping on Recently Deleted seems to be where the bug lies.

Instead, Swipe from the left to access the sidebar and now the Recently Deleted folder will open without crashing the app.
