GM onboard Wi-Fi not auto connecting

My iPhone 15 Pro Max will not auto connect with the onboard Wi-Fi on my ‘22 GMC Sierra Limited. When I get in I have to manually select the onboard Wi-Fi, apparently the password is stored so it hooks right up. Just won’t do it automatically. Auto connect is turned on.

Wife’s 15 Plus will sometimes hook up automatically but not always. Settings on both phones are the same.

What setting am I missing?

When devices don't auto-connect to known Wi-Fi networks as expected, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this:

  1. On both iPhones, forget the Wi-Fi network from the settings and reconnect. This often prompts the devices to establish a fresh connection, which might resolve the auto-connect issue.
  2. On the iPhones, try resetting network settings. Go to Settings > General > Transfer & Reset > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will erase saved Wi-Fi networks, so you'll need to re-enter passwords, but it can sometimes fix connectivity issues.
  3. Ensure that the "Ask to Join Networks" option is disabled. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Ask to Join Networks (toggle it off). This ensures that the iPhone will automatically join known networks.
  4. Make sure both iPhones are running the latest iOS version. Sometimes, system updates include fixes for connectivity issues.
  5. Explore the settings on the GMC Sierra Limited's onboard Wi-Fi system. There might be an option to prioritize or allow specific devices to connect automatically.
  6. If the issue persists, it might be specific to the interaction between the iPhones and the GMC Sierra Limited. Reach out to the GMC customer service for more detailed troubleshooting steps or possible updates specific to this compatibility issue.

By going through these steps, you should hopefully improve the auto-connect functionality between your iPhones and the GMC Sierra Limited's Wi-Fi system.
