iOS 17.2.1 - Screen Unresponsive

I made a mistake to update to 17.2.1. 17.2 broke the ability for CarPlay to work so was hoping this update fixed it. Needless to say it rendered my iPhone 15 Pro Max screen unresponsive; the only solution was to wipe it via Recovery Mode. Which it was the only mode the Mac recognized for the device when it was plugged in. This was after doing a hard restart multiple times. Funny enough after the Restore / Update that exact same update is applied and no issues???... What gives Apple? Is this expected as a hit and miss? (fortunately I had a recent backup)

Apple should QA the update; from a user experience it is lacking and if this occurs on an enterprise level - I can only imagine the chaos.

Anyone else run into the same issue?

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 17
