When I go to check the wifi password in advanced part of settings and i copy and paste it, its blank?

I need the Wi-Fi password, so I can connect it to another device. My Mac remembers the Wi-Fi password for this network, so I go to the advanced part of Wi-Fi settings and click copy password. And it's blank or it copies whatever I had previously copied. So it's like it did nothing, please help.

My Mac wifi doesn't connect automatically. For the last month or so I must manually enter my WiFi password on my home Mac laptop and desktop. They both used to automatically connect. Disappearing wifi password on iMac and iPhone Out of the blue, I keep being asked for my wifi password on both my elderly iMac and my iPhone. As far as I know, I haven't altered any settings between everything working fine and the wifi password now dropping. If I enter my password on the iMac/iPhone, everything works fine. But I'm having to do this every time I turn on my iMac or iPhone. Occasionally the wifi drops out (ie disconnects) after it's been working fine for quite a bit but this is rare. How do I correct this please? In case it's relevant, I should add that the pc on the desk next to mine connects to wifi without any problem. And my wife's pc does likewise. So the problem is somewhere in the Apple devices.

I don't know why it isn't copying. Maybe try looking for it in Keychain Access.
