Recovering files from an iCloud backup

I backup my wife's iMac to iCloud, before resetting iMac to me

Now, none of the files that were on her machine, show up in iCloud.

Macs don't backup to iCloud. Macs use Time Machine to create a backup on an external drive.

If you synced some content using iCloud, visit iCloud.com and review the data in files.
