MacBook Pro 2019 flexgate screen issue

Builttolast! 3.5 years old immaculate like new £3k 2019 16inch MacBook Pro started showing some screen issues in the last week or so, with vertical lines, started intermittently now more regularly and perfect screen in certain positions or hinge angles! Issue…faulty flexgate cable. Why because the cable is prone to breaking or wear, built to last lol! Solution new screen, £700, repair warranty 90 days 🤣

Absolutely appalling customer service and considering the amount of issues documented with this and the treatment of customers is unacceptable for a premium brand.

I asked for a trade in against a new MacBook and was offered zero or pay for the new screen and trade in for less than the repair cost! Disgusted and I’ve bought tens of thousands of £ of Apple tech over the years. Anyone else experiencing this or have any advice?

I wouldn’t mind getting it repaired if Apple admitted that flexgate is a production or design issue and fixed it for customers affected. There are too many instances of this happening for it not to be a product issue. I won’t pay £700 for a 90 day service warranty. I will replace the MacBook or buy another laptop. Hard to justify paying the Apple premium again though!
