Why is CarPlay not working yet?

My wired and wireless CarPlay is not working with both of the latest iOS 17 updates and it’s extremely upsetting. I didn’t have these issues with Android. The constant updates with apps and iOS just to mess things up and change things around in ways that really doesn’t benefit the customer is upsetting and annoying at this point. I’m about to go the Android route.

"Thank you but the issue isn’t CarPlay itself. I did all the troubleshooting before I called Apple customer support and they said it’s a glitch on their end. Another update should be coming out soon to fix it."

Thank you for your followup reply.

Report this to Apple:

Apple may have told you about this over the phone, however, I have not seen any reports of this. So, get the word out to Apple It may be a bug. Question is: "Just how many people have actually reported it to Apple?"

So, do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of you occurrences, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

This is not a universal issue (I have absolutely no issues with CarPlay in any of our cars using any of the iPhones in my household with any version of iOS including all iOS 17 versions for example. Others have also mentioned on this forum they are not experiencing issues with CarPlay and iOS 17). This is not to say that some people aren’t having an issue. Clearly they are. But if patience isn’t something you have to see if it is solely an iOS 17 issue that an update will address then maybe going the Android route as you stated is what’s best for you. App updates are a separate issue and you would need to contact the developer of the app to report any issues you may be having after one of their updates.

In case you weren’t aware how a forum works people can reply to any post. So I nor anyone else needs you to ask them anything before they can reply. Stating a fact is NOT a generic reply. Just because you don’t like that I can’t say “me too” doesn’t make it remotely foolish nor by definition is it generic. You made blanket statements that do not affect everyone and stated you were about to go back to Android. You asked a question that you know absolutely no one can answer in your title but your actual post was not at all a technical question seeking assistance. You were presented with simple facts. If patience to wait for an update isn’t something you have (which is exactly what you would have to do of the issue is due to an iOS bug) then your threat of going back to Android may be what’s best for you. Your mention of constant App updates changing things around and messing things up is something you would need to report to the developer as that is a separate issue. If those facts are generic replies to you then you will continue to see generic replies because they are the truth.
