Unable to create new folder when downloading file in safari (after the upgrade to MacOS 14)

Hi

This is a strange one - after upgrade to the latest MacOS Sonoma I am unable to create new folder when downloading any file in Safari. I get normal screen to select location to save the download but when I click "New Folder" bottom left corner to create new folder for the download the screen just goes uresponsive

and dim in colour. When I hit Esq button all goes back to normal but I can only save new downlad to the existig

folder selection.

Any takers :)

thank you

It happens only when you are on Safari with Chrome it works fine. The fact is the Pop for New Folder where we insert the name is not visible. if you just go ahead typing the name and hit "Enter" the folder is created. This looks to be a setting issue with Safari only.

Sorry mate.

Your solution -

Safari Settings (command + , > Under the general tab, find "File Download Location" > Instead of choosing "Ask for each download", choose the "Downloads" folder. > Restart your Safari > Go back to Settings > General Tab > and this time switch back to "Ask for each download"

Unfortunately it does not work for me, exactly the same issue persists .
