Find in Numbers Grayed Out

I can't use the Find or Find & Replace feature in any of my Numbers documents, because when I pull up the appropriate window, the whole thing is grayed out.

I found old answers to this problem - 1) click right arrow in window to activate, and 2) select a range to search in the document first - but neither worked. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Hi lori,

If your profile macOS 10.14 is correct, perhaps you are running the now unsupported Numbers '09.

To help us help you, please reply with:

Apple Menu > About this Mac > macOS.

With Numbers active, Menu > Numbers > About Numbers.

The current version of Numbers does not allow Find in a selected range. Find now works over the whole document.

Thank you for your attention to my problem. Here is what I found when executing your suggested steps:

MasOS is Ventura 13.4

Numbers version 13.2 (7038.0.87)

Find over the whole document is what I was experiencing before it became grayed out about two months ago. I never chose a range in which to Find. I hoped it would sort itself out eventually, but it hasn't as of yet.
