When I bcc myself on an email message, it disappears from Sent Items when I move it to a folder

This issue has been discussed before, but it has only gotten worse after downloading OS 17.1.1. Other posters have complained that when they bcc themselves and then delete the message from their Inbox, it disappears from Sent Items. I tend to file my bcc’d messages into folders. When I do that on my iPad or iPhone, the message disappears from the Sent Items folder. This is really frustrating! It’s like not having a Sent Items folder at all! Please help!!

I have an 8th Gen. iPad and an iPhone 14 Pro.

This is happening on my iOS 17 iPad. Bcc to self and when inbox message is deleted sent message is deleted also. In addition marking the inbox message read/unread changes the sent message in parallel. Seems like both messages are treated as one.
