Issues with CarPlay since 17.1.1 update

Hi all,

Since my phone updated to 17.1.1, doing anything related to messaging in CarPlay has been unusable. If I happen to receive a text message whilst driving, I can have it read to me, but as soon as I use my voice to ask to perform any follow up functions such as replying, its like Siri is too quick. She cuts me off mid sentence and says “ready to send”. Even if I say no, it just sends.

Same issue occurs if I use Siri to send an email.

This has only just started occurring since the 17.1.1 update. I mentioned it to my wife and she said she’s having the same issues.

Its like Siri is impatient, and rushing, not listening to everything I have to say in my dictation or command before moving to the next step.

Anyone got a similar issue, or suggestion to fix?

My Pioneer 3800NEX unit has the same problem since 17.1.1 with my iPhone 13mini. I can dictate a response, but then it starts stuttering when it tries to read it back to me. My work around was to enable send messages automatically - which it will do.

Annoyingly, it adds an extra line to the start of every text I dictate, "What would you like to do to..." Every text! And then it say, "Hey just to let you know Siri is here if there's anything I can do." Which is also super annoying.

I scream at it to "shut the ____ up, siri." Which works. And also makes me feel better.

Apparently it's affecting all sorts of makes and models of cars and radios. It's not an isolated issue with one brand.
