Is there a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter so male thunderbolt 2 to a female thunderbolt 3 or usb-c to connect a USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 male device to an older Macbook, MacMini, iMac that only has Thunderbolt 2 ports?

Is there a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter so male thunderbolt 2 to a female thunderbolt 3 or usb-c to connect a USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 male device to an older Macbook, MacMini, iMac that only has Thunderbolt 2 ports? I have a Thunderbolt 3 male to Thunderbolt 2 female adapter... I want it backward

to connect a USB-C device to my older macbook pro that only has its fastest port being Thunderbolt 2 (that looks like a mini display port but with data transfer and that lightning bolt indicator).

Not sure if this could be helpful ...

Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Apple

Seems this is a bidirectional adapter

says you can connect new Thunderbolt 3 devices to a Mac with a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 port and macOS Sierra or later.

More info: About the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Apple Support

says:

This adapter is bidirectional, which means you can use it to connect Thunderbolt 3 devices to a Mac that has a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 port. In that case, the Mac must be using macOS Sierra or later, and the device using Thunderbolt 3 must provide its own power.

Maybe it is the adapter you have already ?

Well, I am not sure it works that way because typically the USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 devices are male connectors.

I have not seen anything that is like an adapter for a female thunderbolt 2 to connect a male thunderbolt 2

to a female thunderbolt 3/usb-C (female) to plug in a male connector.

I think the best thing is just to use a USB3.0/3.1 port and just connect the USB-C using a female connector

to USB 3.0 A connector that plugs into a USB 3.0 port on the Macbook. I have done this...

Well thank you.
