Airpods constantly disconnect from AppleTV

I have third generation AirPods. Apple TV is running tvOS 17.1. While watching, the connection will drop. It'll then reconnect, or say it is trying, fail, maybe reconnect, but no sound . I manually try to connect, which creates pinwheel. I've turned off Bluetooth on my iPhone and iPad because at times, that seemed to be the issue. But nope. It just drops when all possible interference is removed. So frustrating.
