Duplex Printing option gone after updating to iOS 17.

After updating to iOS 17 on 2022 iPad Pro 11 inch and iPhone XS, there is no Duplex printing option when I print. Yet an older iPad Pro still using iOS 16, duplex printing is still an option when printing. I’ve already worked with support, they finally told me to wait for a future update to iOS 17 to fix the problem. I’ve not seen anyone else report this as a problem.

  • Printer: HP Laserjet 2015dn
  • XPrintServer

No Duplex whether I print via the XprintServer or directly to the Networked HP Printer.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 17

In using an XPrintServer, you are evidently using a non-AirPrint capable printer. Your xPrintServer uses an earlier version of AirPrint that has been deprecated in the latest version of iPadOS.

All models of xPrintServer are no longer supported by Lantronix. Speaking of personal experience, your options are limited...:

  • Replace your printer with a modern alternative that fully supports AirPrint (recommended)

  • Connect your existing printer to a Windows PC or Mac computer - and install a suitable helper programme that emulates AirPrint

  • Build an AirPrint server using a Raspberry Pi - and install/enable appropriate AirPrint services:

  • Some WiFi-enabled printers support other print-protocols - or can be used with an appropriate printing App. By example, many HP Printers of recent years can be accessed using HP's Smart Print App:
