Upgrade to Big Sur from Catalina on compatible iMac

I have a late 2017 iMac 27 inch i5 running Catalina which aI downloaded, made a bootable drive and made a clean install. I then used my bootcamp back up from my 2012 iMac to install all my data. Everything works just fine but I would like to upgrade to Big Sur rather than Venturer which from the app store seems to be my only choice. I have accessed the apple support site for older OS's and that just takes me to the App Store and when I press get Big Sur the store just continues trying to find it. Come on Apple, if you provide the links please make them usable. Anybody help me please.

Well, you can get the last version of Big Sur by running this command in the Terminal…

softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 11.7.10

It will download the installer in the Applications folder and you can run it from there.
