Can't find voice Alex on new macbook Pro

Hi everyone,

I just switched to a new MacBook Pro, and the default voice was Samantha. When I went to manage voices in settings, I couldn't find Alex. Is it just me, or does everyone have this issue? Also, is there any other way I could download Alex?

System Voice pop-up menu Un-selectable Hi, When following the instructions for "Change the voice your Mac uses to speak text" from the macOS User Guide, the System Voice pop-up menu at Step 2. is un-selectable (as shown below) We have tried updating software to most current and reboot to no avail. The pop-up menu will say loading voices for a few seconds and then stay gray and un-selectable. Spoken content works, but it plays a low quality default male voice.

Voice Control and OS 14? Is anyone else experiencing problems with Voice Control after upgrading to OS 14? I have a MacBook Air 2020. My dictation is on. When I turn on Voice Control, nothing happens.

I just updated my MacBook to macOS 14.1.1, and when I went back to manage voices in settings, I found that the Voice Alex issue has been resolved.
