I am trying to change my apple id from my current to my back up id is there a way to merge to my back up id

I would like to change my apple id to my back up apple id. I am about to loose my current email and would like to merge everything over to the new one. Is there a way to do this?

Merge two Apple Accounts? I changed my email address last year. I had my Apple account established originally using my old email. After setting up my new email address I apparently set up a new Apple account using the new email. I would like to merge the two Apple accounts and have only one, using only my new email address. I’m told I can’t do that, but that I can only delete one of the accounts and put the remaining account under my new email address . I’m concerned that deleting one account may lose whatever is backed up on the cloud under the deleted account.
