Why do some folders automatically appear in the Documents folder?

My Documents folder often fills up with folders of type "0e" "03" "da" "e7" for no apparent reason. I delete them but others appear after a while, what is the reason and how can I fix it (using Sonoma 14.1.1 Apple M2 2022 and latest version for MacBook Air 2017, it happens in both).

MacBook Air, macOS 14.1

It is due to the Spotify app using that folder for its cache. You need to modify the Spotify app's Settings/Preferences to have another folder designated for the Spotify cache. See this thread on the Spotify forums:

This issue has been occurring for years now. I would suggest you contact Spotify and tell them to fix their broken app and point them to the post on their forum I just linked.
