When I pull down from the middle of my iPhone, I get the spotlight search screen. After I type anything I want to search and have taken an action, can the search box clear itself? IOW, if open the search again by pulling down from middle of the screen, I want it to be an empty box. I have already reduced all the noise by toggling off show in spotlight, Look up, suggestions and recents through the settings >Siri and Search

While it is understandable to see it as a convenience when no action has been taken, it is quite irritating every time to clear and search again when we have used the search already and taken action on the previous search.

i think it’s a good feature to retain the search for the next search activity but i think it would be more convenient when i can activate or deactivate this feature on demand because its gets annoying having to clear everytime
Unfortunately, the Spotlight search box on iPhone does not automatically clear itself after you have performed a search and taken an action. It will retain the search term for your next search, even if you pull down from the middle of the screen again. This is likely done to provide a more convenient search experience, as you won't need to re-enter the same search term if you want to search for something similar again.
