I updated my Apple TV to TvOS 17.1. The remote can select shows, play shows, pause shows, etc. but TvOS 17.1 won’t control the volume on my Samsung TV anymore (it worked with the previous update version) despite me going through the IR Remote setup and volume setup a hundred times. All the setting up goes fine, but the mute and volume on the tv are unaffected. What’s the fix?

Just hold down the TV button and Volume down buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds and that should reset the Siri Remote and will fix the IR programming of the volume buttons.
ps- I wish I would’ve known the buttons to press for a restart!?! I spent two days trouble shooting the volume control feature! Mine quit working after my phone connected and wanted to be a remote control for the Apple TV. Lesson learned.
I’ve restarted just the remote several times. It does not work.

If the issue persists, then please contact the Apple Support staff about that.
I tried contacting them. Nothing yet.
