Why did my computer always stuck after I upgraded my MacOS from 12.5.1 to 12.7.1?

My 2021 MacBook Pro with M1Pro processor worked perfectly and smoothly with Monterey 12.5.1. However, after I upgraded it to 12.7.1, it sometimes showed the rainbow waiting cursor which was never seen before on this Mac.

You're welcome. If you mean your drive is almost full that could certainly cause beach balling. Normally it's recommended to keep about 20% free which in your case would be approx. 100GBs.

I run Sonoma 14.1 on my M1 MacBook Air.

I just upgraded my Chome to Version 119.0.6045.105 (Official Build) (arm64) as we are talking. I'll see how it goes with this. I don't think there's anything wrong with the extensions because I kept them inactive most of the time and they worked well before.

One thing I noticed when I first upgraded to Monterey 12.7 is sometimes I can't click somewhere on the screen with either my touchpad or mouse. Then several days later, I was pushed the 12.7.1, and that problem was solved. That was the same time that the beach ball cursor started to show itself. Ever since I changed to this new MacBook Pro with M1Pro processor, I never saw a beach ball cursor.

Thank you so much for your help! I just encountered the same scenario 1 minute ago, the beach ball cursor showed again. Looks like I need to upgrade to Ventura or Sonoma to solve this.

BTW, which MacOS do you think works better on Apple Silicon chips? The Mac I'm using has limited memory and storage(16GB and 512GB) and the storage is almost full. In this case, which system would you recommend? Thanks!
