Pixel to iphone. Using Move to ios to transfer txt messages across. Most are coming, except those that are RCS messages. Even after turning off 'turn on rcs chats', it still does not transfer RCS chats. Is this a known issue?
RCS isn't a google standard. Seems to be apple not updating its android 'move to ios' app to handle RCS. Anyway... I don't expect a fix from apple anytime soon, since they love to protect their precious blue bubbles.. guess less customers for apple, I mean why switch if only half my txt msgs come over.
I went from 10 years of android, to an iphone 11 to a pixel 7, now trying to go to an iphone 7 plus, as I like trying different phones. There's no issue or distress - it just annoys me that apple is doing its typical closed wall approach to everything... choosing this my way or the highway proprietary messaging attitude thinking it will bring them more customers - it won't. Providing an enhanced move to ios to handle RCS would bring them more customers. Once again, we as consumers have to rely on 3rd party apps to handle the spats of major companies, however looks like there are no working 3rd party apps that can do this.
I know that moving from an OS to another can be distressing, because you're accustomed to other protocols, apps, interface, I don't know if you are new to iPhones and you have always had Androids phones, you won't regret your choice. I left Windows for example to join MacOS years ago, I knew I had to learn everything from scratch, I've never regretted it
RCS is a Google standard and it's not 'compatible' with iPhones if not using third party apps
Rich Communication Services (RCS) is a communication protocol adopted as standard in Android phones. Apple doesn't totally support it, for now if not through the use of third party apps.
yeah I've seen beeper, but its waitlisted at the moment, and who know if it'll work..
I prefer the close wall approach of an iPhone to the close wall approach of an Android, it looks open because you have many makes and models running Android but nothing is changing
