Recently purchased iPhone 16 after using Samsung S23. I had been using RCS text messages. When I do data transfer from android to iPhone using move to iOS, these messages will not transfer. SMS messages transfer as does all other data, but not RCS messages. Very frustrating as I cannot lose 2 years of messages. Apple support is no help. Had to return the iPhone. Looking for a way to transfer these messages.
The issue isn’t having rcs messaging work on the phone. The issue is not being able to transfer existing rcs messages from an android device to an iPhone. They do not transfer to iPhone. Had to return an iPhone because about 2 years of messages would be lost.

i understand the different types of messaging. But back to my main point—RCS TEXT MESSAGES DO NOT TRANSFER TO IPHONE FROM ANDROID DEVICE USING MOVE TO IOS, BY COPING, OR BY USING THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE. Messages are lost. For those wishing to preserve their text message chain who have used RCS, those messages will be lost.
