iCloud has deleted everything off my desktop

I was playing around with my storage settings today, and I clicked something to do with iCloud, and now everything has been removed from my desktop. I can access everything on iCloud, but I do not have enough storage, so most things aren't downloaded. Is there a way to undo this so all my files and folders can return?

Inside your iCloud Drive folder you'll find a Desktop and a Documents folder (as you most likely turned off iCloud desktop and documents). Drag the contents to your desktop and documents folders respectively.
