Since upgrading to iOS 17.1 (from the latest iOS 16 version), I cannot use the camera to take and add a picture from within a text message. I have tried tapping the plus sign, and then tapping Camera. Then nothing happens.
Any tricks to doing this now? It was so easy in iOS 16.

Restart and force restart.
Unfortunately that does not work. I both force quit Messages and restarted the iPhone, but still have the issue.
This appears to be working now. I think it was probably a temporary lagging issue caused by re-indexing right after an iOS update.
