I can’t send pictures in message

I have a similar problem. I cannot send pictures/attachments using iMessage from my Mac. Both are on the latest releases (iOS 17.0.3, OS Sonoma 14.0). The problem is 100% reproducible. I've tried logging out of iCloud on the Mac and multiple restarts but no love.

I just don’t get it at times. When things are easy become more two step process or frustrating after an update. I too cannot take pic and send within the iMessage itself. What we have now is a Plus symbol and tapping on that shows a host of things. No where a camera to take a pic in message. So you have to take pic then go to library and send it. One step forward 2 steps back I guess 😒

I was able to fix my own problem by doing the following:

1. 1. Sign out from iMessage
   2. Finder, Go > Library (Hold option)
   3. Locate Messages folder
   4. Delete files ending with .db
   5. Restart the computer
   6. Open iMessage and sign in again.

Note, it took a few hours for my messages to fully sync up.

Yes @BobbyKeene, I deleted all of the files mentioned.

I'm glad to see the OP got it fixed with the 7.0.2 patch.

Did you delete chat.db, chat.db-shm, chat.db-wal and prewarm.db, prewarm.db-shm, prewarm.db-wal?
