Apple music keeps crashing
Within the past week or so, Apple Music crashes unexpectedly and generates a problem report. I then restart it, but it crashes again. Help! Thanks!

Doing nothing isn't going to help. A proper shut down and restart can sometimes help with various software issues. Launching Music in its safe mode disables third party plugins (you likely don't have any) and also appears to run some integrity checking on the Music database and its various indexes. It won't hurt to try, and it may just help.

Apple Music keeps crashing immediately after starting the app. It started this behavior right after I created a new playlist and tried to add a song to it. Neither rebooting macOS multiple times nor starting Music in safe mode helps. I'm using macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 on a Mac mini M2 Pro 16 GB.
Did you try Apple Music's safe mode rather than the computer's safe mode? Can you option-start Music and create a new library that doesn't crash? If so can you perhaps restore a backup of your Music Library.musiclibrary package from Time Machine from a date before things went wrong and the switch to that library?

I used Music's safe mode, not the computer's. It's not too much of an actual problem for me, though, as I'm mainly using Music on my phone. Therefore, I'm just going to wait and see if it will be fixed in a future update.
Reboot your computer without reopening active windows. Try holding down option+cmd as you launch Music to open it in its safe mode.

Why do we need to do this? What happens underneath when we do this?
