Wikipedia indicates that QBasic is an integrated development environment for assorted flavors of QuickBasic. It runs on old Microsoft platforms such as MS-DOS, Windows 95, and OS/2. The article says that "Starting with Windows 2000, Microsoft no longer includes Basic with their operating systems."

There is a different Microsoft IDE called QuickBasic. It "runs mainly on DOS" and had a "short-lived" Mac version that preceded Mac OS X.
