Have an iPhone 11 with iOS 16.6.1 installed. If I go to General/Software Update it states that there is an update iOS 16.7.2 is available. When I connect the iPhone to my MacBook Pro the only update available is iOS 17.1. With all the issues that have been written about with iOS 17, I’m not ready to “upgrade” just yet. How do I get iOS 16.7.2 via a connection to my MacBook Pro?

If you have yet to get the update, consider updating over the air with your WiFi. Plug your iPhone into AC (just to be sure your battery doesn't run out).

Thanks LilyLC, almost word for word what I got from Apple. Seems that in an effort to get folks to move to iOS 17, they've made it somewhat cumbersome to remain on iOS 16. In any event, following your steps, worked perfectly!

FYI: As new versions of macOS release, several years ago, I moved away from iOS updates via my MBPro to over the air. Also, I generally wait until the third update of new iOS versions. So, even though the public beta for iOS 17.2 is out, I will wait until the final release of iOS 17.3. Go forth!
