Barcode scanner doesn’t work

I have a new iPhone 15 Pro and have been unable to scan barcodes like my previous iPhone X. What has changed and how can I again scan for barcode info?

Hello placerville83,

Are you talking about QR codes or are you using some sort of application to scan barcodes?

If you're talking about QR codes, you would do that in the Camera app:

1. Open Camera, then position iPhone so that the code appears on the screen.

2. Tap the notification that appears on the screen to go to the relevant website or app.

That’s not a feature of ios. QR code scanning, yes. UPC codes, no.

Thanks for the reply, Jaym_8, but it is the barcode and not the QR code I wanted to know about. I did some more checking and found that it appears the newer iPhones don’t have the same barcode reading ability as my old iPhone, but that third party apps can work. Guess I’ll be looking into that as a solution!
