iPhone15 Pro screen not responding after update to 17.1

Hey all,

My phone is bricked I think. The only thing that works on it is the side buttons after the latest update. Cannot swipe, face ID, or use my passcode to unlock.

I have forced restarted the phone, without luck (Volume up, Volume Down, HOLD power). Guess it's to the apple store for me...

What can I do at this point?

Sad to hear your story.

Here is what I would do in your Situation:

I would try to factory reset with the help of a mac. Here you‘ll find an article from official Apple Support on how to do that.


If this does not solve your problem I would get in touch with Apple Support.


I hope that your iPhone is up and runnig as soon as possible.


Also don’t forget about your rights regarding the device warranty and the rights you get additionaly by the laws in your home country.

Thank you for the info.


I have not tried the factory reset as I am at work, and without a Mac at home. I don't really trust iTunes on a Windows based machine as I have had terrible bricking issues in the past with iTunes itself.


Support was not helpful at all, so I suppose it will be a replacement?
