iMessage & Android

When I send a text message to someone with an android , it results in

" not delivered " , until I turn on my iPhone , then it gets delivered .

I'm sick & tired of this unnecessary obstacle . For what I spend on Apple products , the message should go through and I'm sure that it may be implemented .

I haven't been able to find a solution at support.apple.com .

In addition , Apple stock is skyrocketing , so they have the capacity to pay somebody to figure out how to sync & deliver these messages .

My question is : am I missing something , or should I ask the developer how to handle it ? I feel that the carrier isn't the problem .

💬 Any replies = much appreciated .

Your iPad is not capable of sending SMS messages on its own. It does not have the hardware or software to do that. It relies on your iPhone to send the messages. So, the iPhone needs to be on and connected to the same WiFi network.

From Apple's support article:

As long as your iPhone is turned on and connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network, new SMS/MMS texts can be sent and received on the devices that you added.
