I screen-recorded an interview that I had and the preview popped up onto my screen, I tried to send it to my messages but it did not send and the screen recording disappeared, where can I go to retrieve it please I need help asap it's for my class project.

you can use the keyboard shortcut "shift-command-5" to bring up the recording controls. then choose "options".
and then, in those options, check the "save to" location to see where the recording went.
if it is not found in that location, I need to ask, do you have "Show Floating Thumbnail" enabled? when active, the recording will temporarily show up on the bottom right of your screen before being saved and moving to the top right of your screen. (if using "desktop" as the save to location) I have seen issues when others (and myself) that when interacting with the "floating thumbnail" it can cause the recording to disappear, never to be found again. that is why I personally ALWAYS leave "show floating thumbnail" disabled.

ok. so that may be why your recording has disappeared. I have seen it many times, and experienced it myself, that the recording will disappear after interacting with the floating thumbnail.
I checked, and the screen recording is not in any of the saves so I'm 100% sure that the file disappeared or was deleted. What a bummer :(
