I purchased and upgraded from an Apple Watch 5 to an 8. I have a handful of folks I share activity with and I can see still them from my fitness app in my phone but my watch is only showing my own activity and that I am not sharing with anyone. How do I fix this?

Look over this guide: Share your activity from Apple Watch - Apple Support and test with a couple of Contacts. Make sure the friend is able to verify that they have enabled this feature. Make sure your iOS and watchOS are up to date.
