MacTracker indicates that Model ID "MacBookPro11,4" is a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015).

That Mac originally shipped with some version of Mac OS X 10.10.* ("Yosemite") or 10.11.* ("El Capitan"). It can run anything up to Monterey, but nothing later (e.g., not Ventura or Sonoma). Monterey is still one of the "most recent three" and all of the 15" Mid-2015 rMBPs had 16 GB of RAM and SSDs. So if you upgrade to Monterey, you will be in a good place as far as being able to get current applications and security updates, for the next year or so.

By default, the App Store likes to hide old versions of macOS, so you'll want to use the links in this Support article:

How to download and install macOS - Apple Support

Use Safari as your browser, and default browser. Other browsers may have trouble with the App Store links – and you may see VERY misleading messages claiming (falsely) that the item you are trying to download isn't available.

If you are still on Yosemite and have trouble accessing the App Store, you may need to download the Sierra .DMG, install Sierra, and then use the more recent versions of Safari and the App Store in Sierra to upgrade further.

Note that if you upgrade to Catalina or later (Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey)

More information about the 15" Mid-2015 Retina MacBook Pro:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) - Technical Specifications

The Thunderbolt ports are the old-style ones, which have Mini DisplayPort connectors and which can act as Mini DisplayPorts.

The machines originally shipped with 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of PCIe flash storage. Larger ones are available:

Mac OS X 10.0 ("Cheetah") was a PowerPC-only operating system. It's so old that there are not any MacBook Pros that can run it. (Apple introduced the "MacBook Pro" name when they switched from PowerPC chips to Intel chips.)

Most of the G3 and G4 PowerBooks would be able to run Mac OS X 10.0 ("Cheetah"), but none would be able to run Mac OS X 10.6 ("Snow Leopard") or later. Snow Leopard through Catalina are Intel-only … Big Sur through Sonoma are Intel- and Apple-Silicon-only.

If you go into the About This Mac dialog in the Apple () menu, what does it say about your Mac's model, about its hardware year / time of year, and about the operating system that it is running? (No serial numbers, please.). If you are actually using an Intel-based MacBook Pro (running something much later than 10.0), that information will let us figure out how far you can upgrade the OS on it.
