I need more information

Did you use speedcheck? Is that up- and download -speed? (https://www.speedcheck.org/ > third party website!)

Do you have latency when opening webpages?

Do you experience disconnects?

Have you tried a different wi-fi network?

You could also try adding a test user to see if it is user-account-related (apps, VPN, Blockers etc).

Personally, I don't think the operating system (MacOS Sonoma) is the source - usually it is

• VPN, Antivirus, "Snitch, Clean my Mac"
• Cookies settings in browser, history full / webdata full

I have an iPhone, an iPad mini and a ten year old MacBook Pro all running over 200mbps on download speed test. My brand new MacBook Pro can barely achieve 50. I'm questioning why I bought this equipment as it simply doesn't work. Interestingly, even when hard wired using a Cat 6 it is still only 25% of the speed of the other equipment.

It looks nice, good battery life but pretty hopeless as a computer. Any thoughts from anyone? I don't know how to contact APPLE, tried numerous times but just get referred to these community links which I feel is a lousy way of getting free labour. Thank you.
