Apple One and iCloud+ storage issues

If you purchase Apple One Premier using a secondary media/subscription Apple ID but then need more than the included 2TB to which you have normal access, you are limited to buying 6TB (or 12TB) more which they attach to your primary Apple ID. You will pay for 8TB (or 14TB) total every month; however, Apple will no longer give you customary access to the 2 TB that comes with Apple One as you once had. They refuse to combine the Apple One storage and the iCloud+ storage as one would expect. They actually could combine it, because their own literature states that it will combine during any free trial mode of Apple One. But as soon as the trial ends, they move the Apple One 2TB out of usual and customary reach, and it is no longer accessible as it once was. So how do I get combined access to the full 8TB (or 14TB) for which I am paying while still being able to share my storage with family and maintain my primary and secondary (media) IDs?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.0

OK. I think I figured it out, but it is not a real solution:

Basically, to see your storage combined you will have to purchase both Apple One and any iCloud+ storage with your primary ID. You cannot be signed into Media & Purchases with a secondary ID, or it will force your Apple One media subscriptions into the secondary ID but divide your Apple One and iCloud+ storage subscriptions between your Primary and Secondary IDs (not combine them). Consequently, you will not have access to all the storage you are paying for when you are signed into your primary ID (as is usual and customary--i.e., any storage divided into your secondary account will not be seen) nor can you share all the storage you are paying for with your family as one would expect. This is poor execution on Apple's part.
