Problems after Sonoma upgrade

Since upgrading to Sonoma, my Mac is slow to start, apps are slow to load and I get popups such as USBserver would like to access data from other apps. Any ideas?

Try and start the mac in the safe mode to see if the issue persist. If they don’t persist in the safe mode, the issues are caused by an external piece of software you might want to evaluate the software installed to your mac

Start up your Intel-based Mac in safe mode

  1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key until you see the login window.
  2. Log in to your Mac.
  3. You might be asked to log in again.
  4. On either the first or second login window, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.

If the Safe Mode boot doesn't help download and run Etrecheck. Be sure to give it Full Disk access before running.

Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support  to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.
